
The ICAR–Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT), Mumbai, organized a one-day refresher course on “Characterization Techniques of Cotton Textiles, Auxiliaries, Water and Effluent” on 8th August 2025 for 11 managerial staff members from M/s Gini Silk Mills Ltd., Boiser, Maharashtra.
The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ technical knowledge and provide hands-on experience in characterization techniques for cotton textiles, textile auxiliaries, water, and effluent. Training sessions covered chemical testing methods in line with national standards, with an emphasis on improving expertise in quality control and textile testing.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. S. K. Shukla, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, who underscored the importance of fostering strong linkages between research institutions and the textile industry. He stressed that such collaborative initiatives are essential for converting scientific research into practical solutions, supporting both quality enhancement and sustainable practices in the Indian textile sector. Dr. A. Arputharaj, Coordinator, commended the participants’ enthusiasm and stressed the importance of continuous skill development to drive the overall growth of the cotton textile industry.
