ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai Celebrates 98th Foundation Day of ICAR

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT), Mumbai, celebrated the 98th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on 16th July 2026, with great enthusiasm.

As part of the celebrations, all scientists, technical officers, administrative staff and supporting personnel assembled in the Jubilee Hall to attend the live telecast of the inaugural programme of the 98th ICAR Foundation Day, held at the ICAR–National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) Complex, New Delhi. During the programme, the participants listened to the address delivered by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR, Prof. S. P. Baghel, Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Ram Nath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development.

To commemorate the occasion, a special expert lecture on "Maintaining Work and Life Harmony"was organized by ICAR-CIRCOT in the video conferencing hall of the institute for the staff. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Shital Trivedi (BAMS, MD), who shared practical insights on achieving a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being. 

Additionally, as part of the Foundation Day nationwide initiatives, a tree plantation drive was conducted on the premises of the Ginning Training Centre (GTC) of ICAR-CIRCOT in Nagpur. All staff members of ICAR-CIRCOT enthusiastically participated in the day's scheduled events, making the celebration a grand success.
