Felicitation of Dr. C. D. Mayee on Prestigious Global Recognition

Dr. S. K. Shukla, Director of ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, felicitated the eminent cotton scientist Dr. C. D. Mayee by presenting him with a bouquet, shawl and Shrifal at the institute today, in recognition of his recent global honour. Dr. Mayee, fondly known as the “Cotton Man of India,” was conferred the prestigious ICAC Researcher of the Year 2025 Award by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), Washington, D.C. The award was presented during the 83rd Plenary Meeting of ICAC held at the historic Parliament House in Bremen, Germany on March 23, 2026.

This distinguished recognition celebrates Dr. Mayee’s remarkable contributions spanning over five decades in the field of agricultural science, particularly in the development and advancement of the cotton sector at both national and international levels. His pioneering efforts have significantly influenced cotton productivity, research innovation, and farmer welfare.
